NorthPoint Development released details Monday regarding the high-end senior-living facility it in its recently acquired Two Brush Creek office building, which is immediately east of the Country Club Plaza at 2 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd.
The few facility, to be called Stonecrest at the Plaza, will be the eighth facility in the Riverside-based development company’s senior-living portfolio. NorthPoint operates Stonecrest at Burlington Creek in Kansas City and has other senior communities open or in development in St. Louis, Indianapolis, Detroit and Louisville.
Starting in early 2018, NorthPoint will begin renovation of Two Brush Creek as a luxury senior-living community offering assisted-living and memory-care services. The community will include 61 assisted-living and 22 memory-care suites.
The five-story facility’s amenity package will include a salon, bistro, theater, fitness room, covered parking garage and outdoor garden areas. The units will include quartz counters, tiled showers and outdoor balconies with views of the Plaza. The community also will offer 24/7 nursing and other services for a wide range of care levels, from low to high acuity.
A grand opening is expected in the first quarter of 2019.
“We are excited to bring new senior housing options to the Plaza,” Mark Pomerenke, vice president of operations for Stonecrest Senior Living, said in a release. “We are confident that our community will fit seamlessly into the Plaza landscape, and Stonecrest will be uniquely positioned to create a community for our aging population that can enjoy the vibrancy and activity of the Plaza.”
