Edgerton lands another large distribution facility expected to create 120 jobs

Horizon Global, a manufacturer of towing and trailer equipment, will occupy a new 512,000-square-foot distribution facility in Edgerton that is expected to create more than 120 jobs.

The company, which operates 64 facilities in 20 countries, chose Edgerton to be the hub for its North American distribution operations. The building is located in Inland Port XXXII, part of a 1,700-acre warehouse and intermodal development by NorthPoint Development.

The Kansas City Area Development Council announced the new location. The agency said its work to attract the company to the Kansas City area was assisted by the Kansas Department of Commerce, the city of Edgerton, CBRE, NorthPoint Development, JLL, KCP&L, BNSF, Johnson County Community College, IMKO Workforce Solutions, QPS Employment Group, Focus Workforces and KC SmartPort.

The facility is to be operational by the end of the year, the company said. It will be a couple of months before it publicizes information about how to apply for jobs.
